What is Reservoir Stimulation?
EOR Technologies employs reservoir stimulation as an enhanced oil recovery method for increasing oil production by treating the reservoir (and the reservoir's "drive") so that the oil production increases in each of the production wells associated with the reservoir.
Before a successful reservoir stimulation can occur, the "homework" has to be completed, reviewed and graded to determine the correct technology for the specific reservoir. The process is usually led by a petroleum engineer, reservoir engineer and/or geologist that is familiar with the reservoir and pay zone(s). Items reviewed and analyzed include; reservoir characterization, reservoir productivity (by well) and will determine whether or not reservoir stimulation will be a worthwhile investment. Reservoir simulation or modeling of the reservoir is frequently used for arriving at the correct reservoir stimulation method to be deployed. Formation damage may be one of the problems relating to the decline in oil production. Reservoir Stimulation includes review and analysis of the oil field, geology, and may include "tracer testing" as a part of the process involved in reservoir characterization. Technologies that may be used for reservoir stimulation may include hydraulic fracturing or "fracking" or acidizing, more accurately referred to as "matrix acidizing."

Who is EOR Technologies?

How much more oil can we produce from our "mature" oil field and
wells?
Enhanced oil recovery or "EOR" represents a significant opportunity for companies with declining oil production to significantly increase their oil production and revenues through our range of EOR technologies and services.
As seen above, there are a number of variables that determine the potential increase in production for any particular application.
With that said, some of the EOR technologies can have a significant reversal in oil production. And by "significant," this could mean anywhere from a 100% increase in oil production to a 500% increase in oil production.
Would increasing your oil production from 5 bbls/day to 10 bbls/day for a 100% increase in oil production. Would that make a difference? How about going from 100 bbls/day to 500 bbls/day for a 500% increase in oil production. That's the possibility with enhanced oil recovery.
What is "mobility" and mobility control within an oil reservoir
and why is it important ?
The definition of mobility is the ratio of its relative permeability in a
"porous" medium to its viscosity. By reducing water's mobility -
through the increase of its' viscosity through the addition of polymer (PAM)
the properties become nearly identical to the oil within the target pay
zone/reservoir.
In Chemical EOR and chemical flooding (which includes polymer flooding) water is made more "viscous"
by adding a polymer in order to obtain a "mobility ratio" of 1 between water and
the oil in the target pay zone; i.e. the same mobility for the two different fluids.
In water with low a low salinity content, polymer flooding can easily boost the viscosity of water making the chemical flooding process more efficient requiring less water.
